A classic, large winter squash with a blue-grey skin and sweet orange flesh. 'Hubbard Blue Large' is known for its thick skin which gives it a long shelf life and excellent storage properties. The fruits grow very large – sometimes up to 10 kg – and are excellent for soups, gratins and baking.

Cultivation: Pre-cultivate indoors in April and plant out when the risk of frost is over. Requires lots of sun, water and nutrient-rich soil. Give the plants plenty of space.
