Brassica oleracea

An ornamental cabbage plant with beautifully lobed leaves in a variety of colors – often green, pink, purple or white tones. Ornamental cabbage is mainly used in fall plantings and flower boxes to provide color and structure when other things in the garden are wilting. It tolerates cold well and only becomes more beautiful in cooler temperatures.

Cultivation: Pre-cultivate indoors in March–April or sow directly outdoors in May. Plant out when the plants are large enough and the risk of frost is over. Thrives in sun to partial shade and in nutrient-rich, well-drained soil.
