Description:
Flakkese 2 is a late and very high-yielding carrot variety. It develops slightly conical, very long roots that can be up to 30 cm long. The roots have an intense color and are resistant to breaking. The carrots are versatile and are excellent for eating raw, cooked, pressed into juice or frozen. They also have a long storage life and stay fresh for a long time after harvest.

Sowing and planting:

• Sowing depth: 1–2 cm
• Sowing time outdoors: April – May
• Plant spacing: 5 cm between plants, 30–40 cm between rows

Care:

Prepare the soil well by clearing weeds and ensuring it is deep, well-drained and free of stones. Water regularly to prevent root cracking. Thin the plants early to give each root enough room to develop.

Harvest time:

September–November

Tip:
Use fiber cloth early to protect the plants from the carrot fly. For successful storage, leave the roots in the soil as long as possible before the first frost or store them in a cool, dark place after harvest.
