Sweet Pea - 'Painted Lady' (1737)
Lathyrus odoratus

A true historical beauty! 'Painted Lady' was introduced in 1737 and is one of the very first sweet peas to be bred. It has survived for generations – preserved by a relative in Australia – and still spreads its lovely fragrance and charm in our gardens today.

With its two-toned flowers in pink and white , and its climbing habit , it is perfect for trellises, fences or in bouquets. A flower that carries both fragrance and history .
