Description:
Blankyt is a mid-season kohlrabi variety characterized by its attractive blue-violet tubers with soft, crispy white flesh. It has a mild, sweet flavor and is excellent for eating raw, for example in salads, or cooked in stews and soups. Its robust growth makes it suitable for both direct consumption and short-term storage.

Sowing instructions

Sowing depth: 1 cm

• Pre-cultivation: Start pre-cultivation indoors in March-April. Sow the seeds in pots with nutrient-rich soil and keep them in a bright, warm place. When the plants have developed 4–6 leaves and the danger of frost is over, they can be planted out.
• Sowing time directly in open ground: April – June
• Planting out pre-grown plants: April – June

Harvest information

• Harvest period: June – October
• Harvest when the tubers are 6–10 cm in diameter to ensure the best flavor and avoid woodiness.
