Chives Medium Leaf – Aromatic and Versatile Herb

Latin name : Allium schoenoprasum
Chives Medium Leaf is a classic and easy-to-grow herb that produces medium-length, dark green leaves with a mild, fresh oniony flavor. Perfect for cutting over salads, soups, egg dishes or as a decorative garnish. Its purple flowers are also edible and appreciated by pollinators.

  • Sowing time : April–June (direct sowing) or pre-cultivate indoors year-round.
  • Harvest time : From about 6–8 weeks after sowing and continuously thereafter.
  • Sowing depth : 0.5 cm.
  • Plant spacing : 20 cm between plants and 30 cm between rows.
  • Location : Does best in sun to partial shade.
  • Growing tips : Cut back the leaves regularly to stimulate new growth. Allow some plants to flower to attract bees and butterflies.
